Kedarnath is a famous Hindu pilgrimage site in Uttarakhand, India, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and a part of the Char Dham Yatra. Situated at 3,583 meters above sea level, the temple is believed to have been established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. According to legend, the Pandavas sought Shiva’s blessings here for redemption. The temple remains open from April to November. In 2013, a devastating flood struck Kedarnath, but the temple miraculously survived. Today, it remains a sacred spiritual destination attracting thousands of devotees every year.
